Why drive for hours to have a great time? At Touchstone at Tanasbourne, you’ll find hot spots and happenings all around you. Here’s just a handful to get you started.

Excellent shopping abounds at The Streets of Tanasbourne, an open-air center anchored by Macy’s and REI. While you’re there, take a break at Bella Espresso, or dine at Romano’s Macaroni Grill or P.F. Chang’s China Bistro.

The city of Hillsboro boasts fine schools and churches, quiet streets and parks. Seasonal festivities include the Hillsboro Rotary July 4th Parade, a St. Patrick’s Day Parade, and the Washington County Fair held in late summer.

If you’re a golfer, an abundance of courses are within a 10-minute drive. A beautiful example is Meriwether National Golf Club, a 27-regulation-hole course surrounded by pastoral farmlands and the meandering Tualatin River.

Outdoor enthusiasts will appreciate Hagg Lake, a popular recreation destination just 15 miles southwest of Hillsboro. The 1,100-acre lake is stocked with trout, bass and perch and is bordered by a park with picnic areas and a disc golf course.

Hillsboro Farmers’ Markets take place Saturdays (in the historic downtown area) and Sundays (at Orenco Station) from May through October.

Other local hangouts include McMenamins Brewery (4045 NW Cornelius Pass Road), Hillsboro Public Library (at Shute Park near the Aquatic Center), Cold Stone Creamery (2227 NW 185th Ave.) and Four Seasons Bowling Center (322 SE Washington).

Last but not least, from nearby Highway 26, you’re a straight shot to Oregon’s scenic ocean beaches!
