Why drive for hours to have a great time? At Touchstone
at Tanasbourne, you’ll find hot spots and happenings all around
you. Here’s just a handful to get you started.
Excellent shopping
abounds at The Streets of Tanasbourne, an open-air center anchored by
Macy’s and REI. While you’re there, take
a break at Bella Espresso, or dine at Romano’s Macaroni Grill
or P.F. Chang’s China Bistro.
The city of Hillsboro boasts fine
schools and churches, quiet streets and parks. Seasonal festivities
include the Hillsboro Rotary July 4th
Parade, a St. Patrick’s Day Parade, and the Washington County
Fair held in late summer.
If you’re a golfer, an abundance of courses
are within a 10-minute drive. A beautiful example is Meriwether
National Golf Club, a 27-regulation-hole
course surrounded by pastoral farmlands and the meandering Tualatin
River.
Outdoor enthusiasts will appreciate Hagg
Lake, a
popular recreation destination just 15 miles southwest of Hillsboro.
The 1,100-acre lake
is stocked with trout, bass and perch and is bordered by a park with
picnic areas and a disc golf course.
Hillsboro Farmers’ Markets take place Saturdays (in the historic downtown area) and Sundays (at
Orenco Station) from May through October. Other local hangouts include McMenamins
Brewery (4045
NW Cornelius Pass Road), Hillsboro Public Library (at Shute Park near
the Aquatic
Center),
Cold Stone Creamery (2227 NW 185th Ave.) and Four Seasons Bowling Center
(322 SE Washington).
Last but not least, from nearby Highway 26, you’re
a straight shot to Oregon’s scenic ocean beaches! |
